Answers to common questions about image compression, file sizes, formats, and privacy.
How do I convert a PNG image to JPG online?
Select your PNG files, adjust JPG quality and check the converted copies before downloading. You can process up to 20 images, 25 MB each. The longest side is limited to 4,000 pixels by default; turn off that option to keep larger dimensions within the tool’s pixel limits.
Why convert a PNG file to JPG?
Choose JPG for photographic PNGs or when an upload form explicitly requires it. Keep PNG for transparent graphics, small text and diagrams with sharp edges. JPG may reduce a photo’s size, but it is not automatically a better choice for every PNG.
Will converting PNG to JPG reduce image quality?
JPG uses lossy compression, so some image information can be removed during conversion. Pixilo lets you control the quality setting so you can choose a practical balance between JPG file size and visual quality.
What happens to a transparent PNG when it is converted to JPG?
JPG cannot store transparency. This converter fills transparent areas with white. Use PNG or WebP if you need to keep a transparent background.
Can I convert a PNG screenshot to JPG?
Yes. You can convert PNG screenshots to JPG in the same way as other PNG images. Keep in mind that JPG compression can affect small text, sharp lines, and other detailed elements in screenshots.
Can I convert PNG to JPG without uploading my image?
Yes. Pixilo processes the PNG to JPG conversion directly in your browser, so the image does not need to be uploaded to a conversion server. The tool is also free to use and does not require an account.
