FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Answers to common questions about image compression, file sizes, formats, and privacy.

Why convert WebP to JPG?

Use JPG when an upload form, app or recipient requires it. If the WebP already works where you need it, conversion may be unnecessary. Open the downloaded JPG in the app or service where you plan to use it.

Does converting WebP to JPG reduce image quality?

This tool uses lossy JPG compression, so some details can change. Adjust the quality, update the results and compare the preview before downloading. Conversion cannot restore detail already missing from the WebP, and the JPG may be larger than the original. Keep the original for future editing.

Will my WebP image keep its transparency after converting to JPG?

JPG cannot store transparency. This converter fills transparent areas with white. Use PNG or WebP if you need to keep a transparent background.

Are my WebP images uploaded to a server?

No. The WebP to JPG conversion happens directly in your browser. The image file does not need to be uploaded to a conversion server.

What is the maximum WebP file size?

Select up to 20 images, 25 MB each. By default, images with a side over 4,000 pixels are reduced proportionally. Turn off the dimension limit to keep original dimensions, within 8,000 pixels per side and 32 million pixels in total.

Can I turn an animated WebP into an animated JPG?

No. JPG stores a still image, and this converter does not export animation or let you choose a frame. Keep the original WebP for motion. If you need a specific still, extract it with an animation editor first.
